A group of 45 on the Southwest Vacations Team volunteered at the Second Harvest Food Bank in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday, August 14, 2007.

On August 22, 2007, the Dallas Maintenance Department shared their spirit! The large group of Managers and Directors landed in Austin and were warmly welcomed by the Salvation Army. Southwest Maintenance Employees could be found landscaping, painting, and cleaning at the Salvation Army’s Shelter for Women and Children, Adult Rehabilitation Center, Christmas and Disaster Center, Salvation Army Corps, and Social Services Center/Emergency Shelter.

Six Southwest Airlines Employees (CSS Nelson Maldonado, CSA Naveen Samaroo, CSM Tawnya Johnson, Ramp agt George Trahan, Ops agt Paulette Thomas and CSA Betty Rivera) volunteered their time and energy by sorting 1,500 pounds of food. This provided 2,250 meals for the community! The group shared their spirit for a total of 18 hours to help assist the Daily Bread Food Bank in Ft. Lauderdale.

Surrounded by more than 400 senior citizens at the East Las Vegas Community/Senior Center, local Southwest Airlines Employees shared their holiday SPIRIT! In honor of the recently-opened Inflight and Flight Operations Crew Base, Southwest Airlines partnered with Las Vegas Mayor Pro Tem Gary Reese to spice up the annual senior citizen holiday celebration lunch. Southwest Employees serenaded the guests with holiday carols, captured photos with Santa Claus, and even partnered with the seniors on the dance floor. Thanks to the Las Vegas Employees for sharing their spirit and smiling hearts with this special group!
