If all you need to do is check your bags, Express Bag Drop is for you! This separate line lets Customers who already have a boarding pass in hand and just need to check a bag move past the ticket counter faster so they can get on with the rest of their trip.
How It Works
Follow three simple steps to take advantage of Express Bag Drop:
- Arrive at the airport with your boarding pass*. You can get a boarding pass online as early as 24 hours before your flight!
- Scan the bar code on your boarding pass at the Express Bag Drop kiosk and indicate the number of bags you are checking.
- Show your government-issued photo ID to the Customer Service Agent who will tag your bag so you can be on your way!
*If you don’t have a boarding pass when you arrive, you can also obtain one at the “Self-Service” kiosk in the lobby area.
If you are traveling on a shared itinerary, only Customers who have an itinerary where Southwest Airlines is both the Marketing Carrier and the Operating Carrier of the first flight are eligible to use Express Bag Drop. Customers who purchased their itinerary through AirTran booking channels or are traveling on AirTran for the first leg of their trip should use the Full Service line to check baggage.
