Student’s Winning Tie Design to be Worn by Southwest Pilots
The collectors' edition tie (pictured below right) is being worn by Southwest Airlines Pilots participating in the 2008 Adopt-A-Pilot program. The concept for the tie was based on artwork (below left) submitted by fifth-grade student Sam Dugger of Ocala, Florida. Design elements from Sam's artwork were incorporated to create the final tie design which represents the fun, themes, and spirit of the Adopt-A-Pilot program. The winner was selected out of more than 2,500 entries in the Adopt-A-Pilot National Tie Design Contest.
