Rapid Rewards accounts will remain active and points won’t expire as long as you earn Rapid Rewards Points from flights or Partners every 24 months.
If you need to change a previously booked itinerary that includes an international flight, you would follow the same process as you would for a domestic flight and only the difference in fare would apply (no change fees).
If changes are made between fare classes, there are few exceptions to note. For example, if you originally booked a refundable Anytime Fare and are changing to a Business Select fare, the original dollar amount paid for the Anytime Fare will be converted to reusable travel funds and the difference in fare will be refundable if any additional changes or cancellations are made in the future.
If you choose to change your itinerary on the day of travel, note that you will have to pay the applicable departure taxes and fees associated with your new international itinerary.
International flights within two hours of their scheduled departure time cannot be booked online at southwest.com. To book an international flight for same-day travel, you can contact us via phone at 1-800-I-FLY-SWA (1-800-435-9792) or see a Customer Service Agent at the Southwest Airlines Ticket Counter upon arrival at the airport.
If your international flight itinerary has been impacted by circumstances beyond Southwest’s control (weather, etc), you may change your travel date/time at no additional cost, but you must contact Customer Service via phone in order to do so.
