With the help of ECOM Foundation, we are giving origin producers in rural areas access to secondary education and advanced agriculture training to ensure the livelihood of the local communities and the coffee industry.
Rebuild and Regrow
Last September, many regions in Mexico suffered extensive damage following two severe earthquakes. One of those areas was Tapachula, in the state of Chiapas, which supplies some of the coffee beans used in Community® coffee. To help this area recover from the 8.2 magnitude earthquake, Community Coffee and the ECOM Foundation launched a sustainable housing project. The teams, alongside Chiapas residents, built environmentally friendly houses designed to conserve natural resources and provide an earthquake-resilient shelter for the affected families.
