Tier status updates

Beginning January 1, 2016, we will be performing our yearend tier processing for Rapid Rewards® accounts. This function is necessary to update your membership status and reset your tier and Companion Pass earning counter for 2016.

During this process, you will be temporarily unable to view your current tier status and progress towards earning A-List, A-List Preferred, and Companion Pass status when logged in to your Rapid Rewards account on Southwest.com®, on the Southwest mobile app, or when accessing your account through our automated phone system via 1-800-248-4377. When accessing your account online or on mobile, you will see a tier status pending alert within your account while this activity is in progress. We anticipate this process to go quickly. The majority of our Members should have access to this information within the first few days of the year. For others, this process may take slightly longer. If you have earned tier status for the 2016 year, your tier Member benefits will not be affected when traveling during this period.

During this period, any points earned from flight or Partner activity as well as Tier Qualifying Points* and Companion Pass Qualifying Points** will continue to accrue but will not be viewable until the yearend processing is completed.

We appreciate your patience as we work hard to deliver the best Customer experience possible. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

*Tier Qualifying Points are earned from revenue flights or through select Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards® Credit Cards and are exclusive of bonuses and promotions.

**Companion Pass Qualifying Points are earned from revenue flights booked through Southwest Airlines, your points earned on Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Credit Cards, and your base points earned from Rapid Rewards Partners. Points purchased for personal use or as a gift, transferred points, points earned from program enrollment, Tier bonus points, flight bonus points, and Partner bonus points (with the exception of the Rapid Rewards Credit Cards from Chase) do not qualify as Companion Pass Qualifying Points.

Rapid Rewards Last Activity Date

Rapid Rewards accounts will remain active and points won’t expire as long as you earn Rapid Rewards Points from flights or Partners every 24 months.
