Southwest® Milestone Rewards
Beginning January 1, 2027, Southwest Rapid Rewards® is introducing Milestone Rewards, giving Members opportunities to unlock additional benefits through the Rapid Rewards® program.
What are Milestone Rewards?
Milestone Rewards are new benefits Members can earn through the Rapid Rewards program. With Milestone Rewards, Members can unlock benefits before reaching Silver and again between Gold and Platinum.
How do you earn Milestone Rewards?
Beginning January 1, 2027, Members can qualify for Milestone Rewards by earning Tier Qualifying Points (TQPs)1 or completing qualifying flights.2 The same TQPs and qualifying flights that count toward status also count toward Milestone Rewards.
First Milestone
Your first Milestone Rewards is available before you qualify for the first tier status, Silver, giving you an opportunity to unlock benefits earlier in your Rapid Rewards journey.

Second Milestone
After you qualify for Gold status and before you earn Platinum status, you’ll earn your second Milestone Reward: three Companion Pass® trips, so you can bring your favorite people on your next journey.

Earning Companion Pass Trips begins with a Milestone Reward
Beginning in 2027, you can earn three Companion Pass trips by reaching the second Milestone Reward.
If you continue to earn and reach Platinum status, your Companion Pass trips will increase from three trips to unlimited trips.

How do I earn Milestone Rewards?

Can I earn more than one Milestone Reward?
Yes. There are two Milestone Rewards available during the calendar year: the first is earned at 20,000 TQPs or 15 qualifying one-way flights, and the second is earned at 95,000 TQPs or 75 qualifying one-way flights. Each Milestone Reward can be earned once per calendar year.
What do I earn at the first Milestone Reward?
At 20,000 TQPs or 15 qualifying flights, you’ll earn your first Milestone Reward and have the opportunity to choose:
- 2,000 Rapid Rewards points, or
- Two Preferred Seat Certificates
How do I use my Preferred Seat Certificates?
Redeem your Preferred Seat Certificates through our Modify or Upgrade Seats function. These certificates cannot be redeemed at booking.
What do I earn at the second Milestone Reward?
At 95,000 TQPs or 75 qualifying flights, you’ll receive three Companion Pass® trips, each valid for a one-way or round trip itinerary, subject to applicable terms.
How do the three Companion Pass trips work?
Each Companion Pass trip is fully used when redeemed for either a one-way or round trip itinerary. One-way trips do not retain partial or remaining trip value. For maximum value, redeem your Companion Pass trip on a round trip itinerary.
Do TQPs earned with a Southwest Rapid Rewards® Credit Card count toward Milestone Rewards?
Yes. Beginning January 1, 2027, purchases on Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Cards will earn one Tier Qualifying Point for every eligible $1 spent, and those TQPs count toward both tier status and Milestone Rewards.
When do Milestone Rewards reset or expire?
Your progress toward Milestone Rewards, whether through Tier Qualifying Points (TQPs) or qualifying one-way flights, resets to zero on January 1 of each year. Milestone Rewards benefits remain valid through December 31 of the year after they were earned.
