All passengers that are eligible to obtain a printed boarding pass should be able to utilize the mobile boarding pass option. However, passengers traveling on certain types of fares may not be eligible. Infants, unaccompanied minors, individuals traveling on Senior Fares that need to be age verified, nonrevenue passengers, and Military Fares are not eligible to receive a mobile boarding pass.

You can request a mobile boarding pass at the time of check-in on Southwest.com, the Southwest.com mobile site, or the Southwest mobile app for iPhone®, iPad®, or Android.

Next, select to have your mobile boarding pass sent directly to your device via email or text message.

If you’re already using the mobile app, you can request a mobile boarding pass by choosing 1 of 3 delivery methods: view in browser, email, or text message.

With every delivery method, be sure to save your mobile boarding pass to your phone for easy access during travel. Android users can save boarding passes to their photo gallery by tapping on the 'Save Image to Photos' orange button. Follow the directions on screen to save the image to your photos. iOS (version 8 or higher) users can save boarding passes directly to Apple Wallet by selecting 'Add to Apple Wallet.'

A logged in user who is on a multi-passenger reservation who is eligible can obtain their own mobile boarding pass within the Southwest app or on the Southwest mobile website. Non-logged in users on a multi-passenger reservation will need to visit a kiosk or print their passes on a desktop computer.

Yes. We strongly encourage you to save a copy of your mobile boarding pass to your phone or iPad®, for easy access during travel. If you are within one hour of your flight and haven’t yet checked in, you’ll not be able to check in for your flight through the app due to security restrictions. However, as long as you have checked in for your flight at least one hour prior to its scheduled departure time, you’ll have the ability to reprint a paper boarding pass or mobile boarding pass up until the time that the flight departs. If you’re unable to access the internet at any point during your trip, you still have access to your mobile boarding pass.

iOS (version 8 or higher) users have the option to check in and save their boarding pass directly to Apple Wallet from the mobile site or app. While viewing the boarding pass on the app tap the ‘Add to Apple Wallet’ button directly under the barcode. This will display your boarding pass. Tap ‘Add’ on the top-right corner of the screen to save your boarding pass to Apple Wallet. For saving passes from an email, open the attachment found at the bottom the email, tap ‘Add to Apple Wallet’ and follow the same steps above. Please be sure to save each mobile boarding pass individually.

Android users on the mobile website have the option to save their mobile boarding pass to the photo gallery by tapping on the orange ‘Save Image to Photos’ button. Users in the Southwest Android app can save their pass to Google Pay via the Save to Phone button on the boarding pass.

This will be reflected in Apple Wallet with individual passes for each of your different flights. If you have multiple Southwest boarding passes you can swipe to the right to view all.
