Information regarding travel restrictions, entry requirements, weather advisories, and other factors that may affect your travel plans.

Due to ongoing infrastructure challenges caused by Hurricane Melissa, flights to and from Montego Bay, Jamaica (MBJ) may experience disruptions—including delays, diversions, or cancellations—through Saturday, November 15. We are actively monitoring airport operations and local infrastructure and will provide updates as new information becomes available.

Customers holding reservations to, from, or through the city(s) listed above on the corresponding date(s) who want to alter their travel plans may rebook or travel standby (within 14 days of their original date of travel between the original city pairs and in accordance with our accommodation procedures) without paying a change in airfare. 

Additionally, if your flight is canceled or significantly delayed by Southwest Airlines® and you choose to cancel your trip as a result, you may be eligible for a refund for the unused ticket (even if your ticket was non-refundable) and any optional travel charges (such as EarlyBird Check-In® or Upgraded Boarding) you paid for the flight(s) on which you don’t travel. Customers who purchased their flights via Southwest.com® or our mobile app or by calling Southwest Airlines are eligible to reschedule their travel plans online or from their mobile device. Customers traveling on Getaways by Southwest™ vacation packages must call 1-833-SWA-GTWY (833-792-4899) for assistance.

For reservations booked and ticketed and/or voluntarily changed (including name updates or changes to a ticket) on or after May 28, 2025, checked baggage fees apply to Basic, Choice, and Choice Preferred fares. Southwest Airlines® continues to evaluate how the planned FAA flight reductions, announced on November 5 and effective on November 7, will affect our schedule.

We have made the required FAA reductions to our flight schedule through November 12. While the vast majority of our Customers’ flights will not be disrupted, all Southwest Customers, with travel booked through Thursday, November 13, may adjust their travel plans at no cost, or receive a refund if they choose not to travel, regardless of whether their flight is affected. Southwest will continue to communicate directly with Customers as soon as possible. Nothing is more important to Southwest than the Safety of our Customers and Employees.
