From world-class playhouses to famous music venues, museums, art galleries, and more, there’s something for everyone to enjoy while visiting Chicago. Since it’s a city of neighborhoods, you can find the unique flavor of a variety of cultures and ethnicities easily. Within a mile radius, you can find traditional soul food, tacos from multiple regions of Mexico, heartwarming pho, and Little India’s host of dining delights, all thanks to the diverse population of the city.
For history buffs, the Field Museum offers a great opportunity to explore the natural history of the U.S. as well as the Midwest. Its history dates back to the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, which saw the invention of the Ferris wheel. The Field Museum became the home of the many collections from the exposition, like anthropological artifacts and geological specimens. Today the museum may be best known for its famous dinosaur SUE, the biggest and most complete Tyrannosaurus rex ever discovered, as well as displays of Egyptian mummies and the man-eating lions of Tsavo. The Field Museum is a gem of Chicago with many other world-renown collections of 40 million objects.
