When you touch down at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, you can hail a cab to take you into the city, book a lift through a rideshare app, or simply take the Blue Line. Chicago’s public transportation from the airports and around the city is an efficient, affordable way to get around town, and it’s often faster than driving a car—especially at rush hour. The Blue Line is part of the elevated train (the ‘L’)/subway system, and it forms a V-shaped route, allowing riders to travel from the northwestern portion of the cityat O’Hare to the point in the V at the Loop, back out west to Forest Park, a suburb of Chicago. You can also connect to other ‘L’ lines at stops along the way, which can take you north andsouth throughoutthe city, or you can transfer to bus routes.Chicago offers big-city feel with Midwestern friendliness, and is a city made up of many neighborhoods. If you’re traveling for business, you may find yourself staying downtown—what most people call the Loop. It is so named because of the loop shape that the ‘L’train’sroutes make around the downtown district. Downtown also spans north to River North and Streeterville, west to the West Loop and Fulton Market, and south to the SouthLoop and Printer’s Row.All of these downtown neighborhoods feature cuisine from around the world, but Fulton Market in particular is a destination for gourmands. Formerly an area known for meatpackingand warehouses, today it is full ofeclecticdiningoptions, coffee shops, and more. Explore cocktail bars, music venues, and Michelin-recognized restaurants that can suit a variety of budgets. As you walk around the area, pass by headquarters for some of the largest corporations in the world next to world-renown restaurants.Chicago is not only known forits thriving dining scene. Visit the city for its beautiful parks, gorgeous lakefront, and more!
