Southwest® flights from Atlanta to Los Angeles from $119

If you deplane in Los Angeles hoping to encounter the Hollywood of yesteryear, you may find yourself a little disappointed. While there is plenty of glitz and kitsch left in L.A. and in the Hollywood area, time does indeed march on. The Hollywood Walk of Fame continues to grow. The Sunset Strip is as busy as ever, but looks nothing like it did in the ’80s or ’60s—let alone the ’30s. The era of streetcars is long gone, giving way to highways and, finally, subways. What else has changed in L.A. since its golden age? Who says it’s not the golden age, anymore?

Maybe you prefer to keep your sightseeing outdoors. If that’s the case, find your way to Griffith Park. There are hiking trails and biking trails, but there’s also the famous Griffith Park Conservatory. Take a stroll around the grounds and relive some of Hollywood’s most iconic moments. For more outdoors fun, cruise over to Malibu Creek State Park for 15 miles of streamside trails and more famous outdoor locations.
