Built as a monument to the country's westward expansion, the Gateway Arch is an engineering marvel that spans 630 feet from leg to leg while rising 630 feet into the air! The park surrounding the arch features miles of bike paths, and you can even hitch a ride to the top to take in some truly incredible aerial views of the city.

If you like the park surrounding Gateway Arch, you’ll like Forest Park even better. Almost double the size of New York’s famous Central Park, this aptly named urban park truly is sized more like a forest than a park, with a whopping 1,371 acres of meadows, trees, ponds, lakes, streams, golf courses, tennis courts, sculptures, wetlands, and wildlife. Originally built in 1876, Forest Park was the home of the 1904 World’s Fair and remains steeped in St. Louis history to this day. Known as the Heart of St. Louis, Forest Park is also home to great attractions like the St. Louis Zoo, the Saint Louis Art Museum, the St. Louis Science Center, and the Missouri History Museum.
