If you’re looking to spend time outdoors, take the MAX to Washington Park for a plethora of attractions that are fun for everyone. Take a relaxing walk through the Portland Japanese Garden and get an immersive look at the different styles and varieties of Japanese garden design. Visit the International Rose Test Garden, also in Washington Park, with dozens if not hundreds of beautifully blooming rose bushes. If you thought there couldn’t be any more to do in Washington Park, you’d be wrong. There’s also the famous Oregon Zoo, the oldest zoo west of the Mississippi River.

While there is plenty to see and do inside the city limits, there’s also plenty outside Portland. If you head west about an hour and a half, you’ll hit water. And by water, we mean the Pacific Ocean.
