When you deplane at Eppley Airfield, you’re just three miles northwest of downtown Omaha’s Old Market area. This eclectic neighborhood is a great place to start your Omaha adventure. Get a glimpse of Omaha as it once was, thanks to the original (and uneven) brick-paved streets, historic factory and industrial buildings, and covered sidewalks. Then, explore what is new, unique, and modern since redevelopment began in the area. If you want to indulge in metropolitan pleasures such as hot new restaurants, upscale shopping and chic boutiques, and exciting street performances, this is the place to do so. If you find the area’s history more interesting, then you can join a walking tour of Old Market’s historic buildings with the Omaha Chamber of Commerce.
