When you begin to explore the Sarasota/Bradenton area, you may notice there are a few unique mid-century gems that look a bit different than the surrounding buildings. Known as the Sarasota School of Architecture or Sarasota Modern, it features experimental reinforced concrete structures, open floor plans, and large windows to take advantage of natural light. While many of these buildings were demolished by the early 90s, there has been a recent push to preserve and rehabilitate the remaining structures.
